One of the common and my most favorite salad is Caesar salad, and it’s from Mexico! Shocked? You’re not the only one. I asked dozens of other people, and they were also shocked. This Mexican salad contains croutons, chopped lettuce, and a special Caesar dressing. Strips of chicken and boiled eggs are added in some places. There is no classic dressing for every recipe has different ingredients, but they could contain egg yolks, anchovies, garlic, tofu, cheese, or mayonnaise.

Although the salad is called Caesar salad, it has nothing to do with the famed Julius Caesar. Instead, it was named after the creator, Caesar Cardini. Cardini owned a restaurant and invented the Caesar salad when many customers came to his restaurant one night. Cardini didn’t want to run out of vegetables, so he created a salad with a mixture of other ingredients. That salad became known as the Caesar salad.
