Pineapple Tarts

Growing up in Indonesia, I grew up with many different varieties of snacks, and one of them was pineapple tarts, but in Indonesia, we call those Nastar. I often ate them at school and home. Pineapple tarts (or Nastar) are bite-sized tarts with a sweet and chewy pineapple filling. The filling is sweet and moist, while the outer crust is soft and crumbly. They are usually shaped as hemispheres, but there are other shapes as well, and the top is generally smooth and shiny. These pineapple tarts are great for sharing with friends or family or giving to others as a gift.
