I know what you’re thinking: what I’m recommending isn’t a food, it’s a place. Well, this place sells some of the best desserts you can ever possibly find. Located in Chippendale, Sydney, KOI dessert bar a famous place where it got it’s fame after a former Masterchef contestant named Reynold Poernomo created after he got sent home from the competition. Although Reynold didn’t win the Masterchef competition, he was still able to accomplish his dreams of becoming a pastry chef and creating a dessert bar. Throughout the competition, Reynold is known for making the best desserts, astounding the judges with every one. He made a total of 27 desserts and got nicknamed “The Dessert King” during his time in the competition. Every dessert you can find in KOI Dessert Bar is compacted will flavor that will blow your minds away.

Reynold Poernomo

I went to KOI Dessert Bar last year with my cousin, and we both loved it. We ordered several desserts, and each one was incredible. The desserts they sell are ready to serve, and each one is a beautiful masterpiece. I ordered the Strawberry Pillow and Berry Cheesecake while my cousin ordered the Passion Colada. The Strawberry Pillow just explodes in your mouth while the Berry Cheesecake was soft and light. The desserts are a bit pricey, but it was sure worth it!

Patbingsu

Do you need something refreshing on a hot summer day? I’ve got the answer you need: patbingsu. Patbingsu, or often spelled as patbingsoo, is a type of Korean shaved ice dessert that is accompanied by a sweet syrup and pieces of fruit. Some other types of patbingsu use other ingredients such as red bean, jelly, rice cakes, and ice cream. It’s really simple to make, and you can make it anytime since you just need to add all the ingredients together. The most common fruits that are included in patbingsu are strawberries, raspberries, kiwi, and peaches.

Mango Sticky Rice

In Thailand, one of the main desserts you can find is mango sticky rice. Mango sticky rice is sticky rice accompanied with freshly cut mangoes and drizzled with coconut milk. Sometimes the food coloring might be added to the sticky rice to create a variety of different colors of sticky rice and to add more color to the dish. It’s best served when the sticky rice is still hot, but usually, restaurants would serve them cold. Although this may seem like an odd combination, the flavors work well together and create a spectacular taste in your mouth!

Mango Pudding

In almost all Chinese restaurants you can find, they’ll have mango pudding in their dessert menu. I’ve always loved ordering mango pudding for dessert because of my obsession with mangoes. Chinese mango pudding is a fantastic way to end your meal because it’s light, slightly sweet, and they usually add a bit on mango on top to enhance the flavor. They’re also easy to make. If you have you’re going to have Chinese anytime soon, be sure to try their mango pudding!

Chocolate Lava Cake

🌶️

A chocolate lava cake or also known as chocolate molten lava cake is a famous chocolate dessert and one of my most favorite desserts. They may have originated from France or the United States, but results are still unknown. A chocolate lava cake is a small round chocolate cake that is still runny and gooey on the inside. They are usually not too sweet to enrich the chocolate flavor. Some leave a bittersweet taste behind. They are generally served with berries, ice cream, or powdered sugar. Chocolate lava cakes are a perfect dessert for chocolate lovers worldwide like me.
